08/24/2009 BM Food Pantry Report
7/01/2009 1569 Lbs of food were distributed in the period April-June 2009 and there's more than 40 families registered in our program. It's been possible thanks to the great support of our community, who has been donating non-perishable food products and cash every week, their support has been amazing and we can't thank them enough on behalf of those families and individuals in need. As more and more families get to know about our program the need for more sources of products increases, with that in mind, BM Food Pantry has applied for membership with the Daily Bread Food Bank - an agency of Feeding America, the nation's largest domestic hunger-relief charity, with network members supplying food to more than 25 million Americans each year - where we'll be able to buy products available to them by cents of a dollar per pound. On doing that resources will cover more families since we won't be paying retail or warehouse prices on products.

950 Lbs. of non-perishables were collected at the "Festa Junina Food Drive" organized by our brothers and sisters of the Events Department of Bezerra de Menezes Spiritist Center, we thank all the volunteer workers that made this possible, not just collecting the products but bringing them into our Food Pantry room, hundreds of cans, dozens of heavy rice bags...They did a great job, thank you all.
