Past, Present and Future

By Margarita Rodriguez

So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sum up the Law and the Prophets. (Mathew 7:12)

God has created us all to love one another.  In that endeavor we are touched by many people that come in and out of our lives and we feel a need to reflect on the past.  As the year 2014 draws to an end, our Bezerra de Menezes Center will soon approach its 30th year of existence.

With this year comes much responsibility for us on an individual and group basis.  Did that couple and founding members ever imagine that the seed they planted so many years ago would blossom into such a beautiful bouquet?

Let us now honor them with our dedicated efforts to open up the door to others who like us, are in need of the living water.  May this be an opportunity for spiritual growth and the joining of hands with the common belief we share in our Doctrine.

Our Spiritist Center, just like any other entity has material and spiritual needs that must be met.  The difference is that we function strictly through volunteers.  Then we have the spiritual plane that never abandons us, that leads us to His side and Jesus’ light.  Where do they fit in this big puzzle?  Where are those pioneers: Allan Kardec, Emmanuel, Juana De Angelis, Chico Xavier in this puzzle?  They serve as are our sources of motivation to continue on the long road, gaining our knowledge from their teachings.  We know that there is a better place for us, but it only comes through work.  What work you ask yourself?

As we end this year and begin a New Year we make so many New Year’s Resolutions.  Let us strive to treat others as we want to be treated.  This is an invitation to join in a team effort to spread the love and the charity, to wipe the tears, to feed the hungry, to clothe the needy and to practice that unconditional love that Jesus brought us and taught us through example.

Become an active member, volunteer, do some charity and spread the love!  It is contagious and once you start, you will never stop.

The current Executive Board, Fiscal and Deliberative Councils have given of themselves in a most caring and loving way.

Our Bezerra Home will forever be grateful for their efforts to make Bezerra a better spiritual home for so many.  Of special note are Eliseu Lima and Jeanette Essu who have been on the Executive Board for approximately 10 years.  They are all special people who work selflessly.

Thank you for your trust in us.  We remain humbled and grateful –
