The mission of the Bezerra de Menezes Food Pantry is to collect and distribute food products to the needy in the Miami-Dade/Broward Counties in Florida.

Who can receive food?
Food is available for individuals and families of Miami-Dade and Broward Counties.

How often can I receive food?
According to family size, a monthly quote is assigned. Food can be picked up at any time of distribution.

Do I need to be a member of your institution or attend services to receive items?
No, all community members are welcome to use the pantry.

Can I select my own food items?
Yes, you may select your own food and toiletries.

Are my records confidential?
Yes, all records are confidential and are not used for any other purpose. We'll share with the U.S.D.A. (United States Department of Agriculture) the names of those receiving USDA commodities under the TEFAP, for statistical purposes.

What are the distribution times?
Every Friday from 6 PM to 7:30 PM, Sunday 1 PM to 2 PM

Do I need to make an appointment?
Yes, clients who call in advance have priority service over Walk-ins.

How do I make an appointment?
Call 786.346.7709 and leave your name and day (Friday or Sunday) that you want to visit the Food Pantry.

What documents should I present in order to receive food products?
None. A registration form need to be filled once a year, and if you apply for USDA products an Income guideline need to be followed.

Where are you located?
We are in the Doral-Hialeah area in Miami. Our address is 6450 N.W. 77th Ct. Miami Florida 33166.

I don't have transportation. Do you deliver food?
There is a chance that we can find a volunteer to make a local delivery, call us 786.346.7709 and we'll work something out.

Can I pick up food for a friend?
Yes, if your friend is registered with us and gave us an authorization letter.

Donors Q&A

BM Food Pantry accepts donations?
Yes, BM Food Pantry is a social service program, managed by Bezerra de Menezes Kardecian Spiritist Assn. a 501(c)(3) non profit organization, established in 1985, so your gift is tax-deductible and you’ll receive a receipt for your contribution.

We accept money donations, food products and volunteer time.

How is my donated money spent?
Our program is fully run by dedicated volunteers, money pays for transportation costs, repackaging materials, rent, electric power, equipment (weight meters, shelves) and food.

Do you have to buy food or it's just donations?
Yes, we have to purchase food products in order to offer a decently balanced option to our clients. We buy products from the Food Bank, from wholesale distributors and also from groceries stores (Walmart, Winn Dixie, Publix, etc).

How many Volunteers are involved in this operation?
Currently we have seven volunteers that offer their time every week. More help is always welcome.

Do you receive money from the goverment?
No, we don't receive grants or gifts from any public entity. We plan in the future be able to access some of the Federal, State and local money available for operations like ours. Meanwhile we have many big hearted individuals who support financially this effort.

Do you need help?
Yes, this operation is run by volunteers as a way to practice the Spiritist teachings, giving back to our community and learning while helping, helping while loving. We need money donations, we need another commercial freezer, we need food. A source that can supply a steady amount of products.

Are you affiliated to any Food Bank?
Yes, we are affiliated to Feeding South Florida formerly Daily Bread Food Bank and also we are approved by the U.S.D.A. to distribute food products under the program TEFAP.

Can I stop by to see with my own eyes your operation?
Of course, we'll be glad to have you. You'll enjoy the experience as much as we do.
