Greynold's Park is a 265-acre oasis in bustling North Miami Beach. Historically, the park was a stop over for the Tequesta Indians (200 A.D.) who traveled the Oleta River (on the eastern side of the park). Later, Seminole Indians used the park as a trading post. At the end of the 19th century, convict labor mined coral rock for local building.

After the land was donated to Miami-Dade County in 1933, the Civilian Conservation Corps began building the park. Many of the structures built by these workers still exist. Of note is the mound, an elevated coral rock structure, resembling a lookout or turret. At the time of the Park's dedication, this was the highest land point in Miami-Dade County. Kids can have a great time in this play castle, but watch out for little ones because the pathway up is a little steep and bumpy.

The Coral Rock boathouse, also one of the original structures, is being converted into a concession stand where you can get food, and rent paddleboats and rowboats.

The Tot Lot is a playground area dedicated to smaller children. This area has two picnic shelters available for parties. The cost of renting these shelters, or any other park shelter, is $110 ($50 of this is a refundable deposit) for less than 100 people, and $150, plus $150 refundable deposit, for more than 100 people. The park allows bounce houses, ponies and all other party entertainment, except music. The office has a list of local party vendors to fit your every need. Call the park office for more information or to reserve.

The Bird Rookery (breeding place), the third largest in Miami-Dade County, is home to ibis, osprey, great blue herons, red-shoulder hawks, and owls.

Greynold's Golf Course is a nine-hole par-36 course within the park. Rentals are available. Call 305.949.1741 for tee times.
